It is our responsibility to live happy lives and to let others to live happy lives as well. If we can do that there will be no regret. How much are our days consumed, eaten up in the press of what needs doing? How much do we lose of ourselves in the process of wandering in the past or in the future, rather than being fully aware of that, which is right here and now?
Being fully in the moment brings about a truly enriching and liberating experience. In fact, such experience is accessible to us, twenty-four hours a day. All we need to learn is to gain control over habitual patterns of our mind, which constantly drive us away from such experience. This perpetually present invitation to wake up to ourselves and to life is the challenge and the gift of Awareness Intelligence (AI). AI is not something apart form our self or our life. It is the way we perceive the world, the way we walk, communicate, work, and the way we deal with challenges. It is never far it is right within this very experience, within each and every moment of our own. In this process, we bring all of life’s possibilities, its beauty, joy, and its strength back to ourselves by training the mind to be fully aware of each and every moment. It is an occasion for happiness. Individuals do not exist independently from one another, but rather rely on interconnectedness and interdependence for their very survival. Therefore it is of vital importance not to separate personal well-being from the well-being of others.
What is the Awareness Intelligence?
Awareness Intelligence concept offers a component model of mindfulness and compassionate activity: Mindfulness refers to a psychological quality that involves bringing one’s complete attention to a moment-to-moment experience, which involves paying attention in the present moment, and non-judgmentally. It involves present-centered awareness in which each thought, feeling, or sensation that arises in the attentional field is acknowledged and accepted as it is, without being caught by mental habitual patterns, bias or premature mental responses. Mindfulness practice aims at refining our attention and awareness, enabling us to stay focused even in situations of outer or inner turmoil, to observe the interplay of the multitude of influences that shape a given situation and to gain the inner space that allows making the most beneficial decisions. The invitation and the challenge of the mindfulness is to make ourselves available for just that learning of what life itself has to teach us when we become calm enough and quiet enough to listen, to know what we are feeling and what we are faced with, to examine, to inquire, to attend, to simply be. Compassion refers to a positive quality that takes the responsibility to act for the benefit of others as well as oneself in the best and the most effective way possible. It is a process that unfolds in response to being aware of anxiety. It begins with the recognition of unpleasant circumstances, and inner mental responses, which gives rise to empathy and motivates compassionate action to relieve that obscuration in the way that positively benefits the most.
Preliminary research on Mindfulness and Compassion training suggests that similar programs can increase well-being, reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, enhance connection with others and therefore increase happiness. Each of us has the full potential to unfold Awareness Intelligence within once own being as a naturally inherent quality of mind. Nonetheless, this potential is often covered by everyday stress, confusion, social pressures, or difficult experiences. The process of discovering these qualities requires patience, steady care, proper tools, and a supportive environment. Though eventually it brings us the result we desire the most, happiness. It is our responsibility to live happy lives and to let others to live happy lives as well. If we can do that there will be no regret. What is the Awareness Intelligence Program?
